Catalog Number 59
Date 1916
Place Grand & Spruce SE
Description An engine and its crew posed for a photograph. The mascot stands at attention, held by a man believed to be the conductor. The train was owned by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. The engine type is a version of the widely used 4-4-0 steam locomotive that saw use all over America in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The Escondido Santa Fe Depot can be seen in the background.
